Dear Beloved in Christ,
I am pleased to announce that Sunday, May 16, 9:45 am we will return to worship in our historic church. It will be Holy Eucharist Rite II with the same Phase Orange Restrictions with which we are familiar: windows will be open, no heat or AC, masks (no scarf or bandana), sanitized hands, no passing the peace, no singing. Communion will be handed out in individual cups at the rear of the church on the way out. We will continue the practice of In-Church worship on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of each month for now. When the positivity and case rates remain low for four consecutive weeks the diocese will inform us as to when we can shift to Phase Yellow. Thank you for your patience in all of this, and for your continued and vital financial support in these most difficult of times.
N.B. Remember, despite announcements by the Governor and the CDC, we are still governed by our Covenant with the Diocese of Maryland. Masks will still be required in church until further notice. I will continue to update as soon as I receive word from the Regathering Team about changes in our restrictions.
Also, our Annual Memorial Day Observance will take place outdoors in the cemetery at 10:00 am. Best practices will likely still be in play, so social distancing and masks would be appropriate. The service will be shortened but will still include taking flowers to the graves marked with flags.
I will continue to monitor the situation for Harford County and send updates. I look forward to the day that it will be safe for a full return to church. In the meantime, be sure to join us on Sundays, Facebook Live or at christchurchforesthill.org Sundays at 9:45am, and Monday through Friday for Noonday Prayer at the same locations. We will emerge from the Pandemic stronger than ever.
Yours in Christ,
Fr Kirk Kubicek
Priest in Charge
